As we conclude this training, the goal is not to make the applications complex or extremely detailed. The genius of any good idea is the simplicity that allows anyone to follow the dots. Therefore, we will save some detailed information about real estate deals, buying vehicles, loans, and jewelry for advanced training.
Instead, you will learn everything you need in the first few pages of this section of the course. Master pages 401-405, and you have everything you need to know. Early on you learned the foundations, history, and the prove-up of TROPTIONS value. From this study, you literally know everything you really need to know. And in these last few pages, the goal is to demonstrate THE MOST SIMPLE way to open a potential trade.
To illustrate this elusive concept, think of the dating process. If you are single and looking for someone who might be a mate for life, you cannot sit at home and expect someone to come knocking at the door. Anyone who wants to find a boyfriend or girlfriend (substitute a deal here) ....
Needs to go places and meet people.
You need to talk to people you currently do not know
You need to find out about them and things they like
You will need to find out if there is an interest in further activity
You may get more aggressive by going to a planned event like speed dating where you know that there are many more people in the room with a common interest. What is happening in these events is the pool has been narrowed down to a more likely resource to find someone of common interest.
The dating analogy is actually quite effective because you know that the process of meeting and impressing people can be awkward and you aren't sure of what to say. But you are either going to take the step and dare to be less-than-perfect to find that potential partner. Dating is very accidental, opportunistic, and unplanned. But think of the mindset. The desire to find a potential mate is constantly on your mind. It's like radar always scanning the room for someone with potential.
Some are disqualified right away. They are wearing an engagement ring, wearing clothes that you dislike, or are unresponsive to your attention. Do you quit and decide to marry your cousin, or do you keep trying no matter how bad you are at the process? We know that an available man will eventually meet an available woman. But it won't happen the first time out.
Such is working with TROPTIONS. The best rewards are not had when you sit at home waiting for your mate to stumble in the front door. That is an example of the "Buy and Hold" strategy.
To find a date or a deal, there is the uncomfortable process of talking to people who you do not know. One of the heavy hitters in TROPTIONS does a huge number of trades each month. During my interview, he said that he thought of the process as a game, and he determined to have fun with it.
Here's another thing you already know. Once you have started dating, it gets easier. Unless you are horribly shy, it is easier to ask the next person, and the person after than on a date. The reason is we get familiar with the process. It never feels good to get rejected; but honestly, that person was not meant for you. While persistence can turn a negative response into a positive response, we know that there are others out there. We just need to follow the tried-and-true pattern that has been in place since Adam and Eve.
